They love coming here simply because of the distinctive Dutchsymbolism and the immensely long corridors leading to the offices on the otherside.Lawang Sewu is famous for the Thousand Doors and windows and thefascinating long winding windows representing the Dutch Symbolism of the places.The building has numerous long winding corridors which open out to the officeson one side of the office and the other end of the building on the other hand. It is afamous landmark on the region of Semarang.The place was actually built as the main colonial office for the Dutch andwas then taken over by Japanese government. This place was important because itwas used for giving shelter to the soldiers here. The place was often considered tobe haunted place as many people believed that the place was inhabited by spiritsand ghosts.However, later the place was converted into a heritage site and many cometo visit the place during their holidays or vacation while coming to visit Semarang

Habibie, born in Pare-Pare, South Sulawesi, on June 25, 1936. Heis the fourth child of eight children, spouse Alwi Abdul Jalil Habibie and RA. TutiMarini Puspowardojo. Habibie married Hasri Ainun Habibie in 1962 and was blessedwith 2 children. After his father died in 1950, he moved to Bandung to study at theMiddlebare Gouvernments School. In high school, he began to see outstandingachievements, especially in exact sciences.Habibie became a favorite figure in her school. After graduating high schoolin bandung in 1954, he entered the University of Indonesia in Bandung (ITB now). Hereceived his diploma from the Technische Hochschule, Germany in 1960 which thenget gekar Doctorate from the same place in 1965. Habibie was married in 1962, and hastwo children. In 1967, became Professor of honor (Professor) at the Institut TeknologiBandung. He became a figure admired by many people. On 10 March to 20 May 1998,he became a Vice President, and sworn in by Chief Justice to replace President Suharto.Suharto handed the presidency to Habibie on the basis of Article 8 of the 1945Constitution. And on May 21, 1998 - October 1999, Jusuf Habibie Bacharuddin becamePresident of the Republic of Indonesia. He died on September 11, 2019
