The housing and the flangemounting cover (see the sectional drawing) – both madeof gray cast iron – have high dynamic load capabilitiesand are therefore insensitive to peak pressures andpermanent oscillations. Large-scale PTFE-Pb coatedplain bronze bearings on steel backs in the housing andthe flange mounting cover carry the extremely finelyground bearing pins of the gear, which consists of thedriving shaft pinion.The tooth profiles of the gear, which is made of casehardened steel, are ground to achieve the best runningcharacteristics. A considerable reduction in the volumeflow fluctuation and thus of the pressure pulsation isachieved through the high number of teeth (z 14) andin combination with a tooth from shaped in accordancewith the special requirements of hydraulics and theoptimum rating of the expansion grooves in the quenchoil area. This leads to much lower noise levels for thepumps, or for complete systems and machines.The function of the axial play compensation that isessential for high pressure pumps is carried out by thesliding plates located at the side of the gear.These have hydraulic pressure fields that guaranteecompensation of the axial play on all operating pressures.The sliding plates are designed so that play is compensated inde-pendently of the viscosity. This ensures ahigh degree of volumetric and mechanical efficiency atevery working point.Depending on the temperature or the media, NBR or FKMsealing gaskets can be used to meet a wide range ofapplication requirements. Multiple pump combinationsof the same or different sizes are possible.Note1. External loads2. Direction of rotationLoads acting on the drive shaft end from outside impairthe functions of the doublegland bearing.Radial loads can be absorbed in dependence on theextent and the direction of the loads.
