PRELIMINARY INSTALL GUIDEPreliminary Install INFORMATIONFor the installation and use of this appliance, the fitter and the user should strictly adhere to local andnational regulations as well as AS/NZS 2918:2018. They should also comply with the instructions andrecommendations detailed in this manual. Safety and operation of the fireplace is directly dependentthereon. The liability of the manufacturer can neither be retained nor assured following failure ofinstallation or incorrect use which does not comply with AS/NZS 2918:2018.As each installation is a particular case, a qualified and licensed trades professional should take allrequired preliminary precautions depending on the technical elements inherent to each job.In-observance of the assembly instructions in conjunction with AS/NZS 2918:2018 entails the liabilityof the person who carries it out.As a result of faulty assembly, irrational use of parts or additional components that were not suppliedby the manufacturer/distributor, and/or modifying of the appliance or components will result in inferioror unsafe operation. 5.1 MASONRY BRICK INSTALLATIONSTEP 1: BASELay a masonry base, minimum 100mm thick (ie. solid bricks).The base should be laid on an adequate ground supporting itsweight.STEP 2: BACK WALLUsing masonry, construct the back wall from the base to thetop of the ceiling.STEP 3: SHEET METAL LAYER (OPTIONAL STEP)Place a thin piece of sheet metal on top of the bricks in order tolevel the base and safely manoeuvre the firebox.Allow a minimum of 100mm on all sides.25

5.1 MASONRY BRICK INSTALLATIONSTEP 4: assembly of legsIf your installation requires the unit be elevated, install theappliance legs at this stage. Ensure the legs are adjusted andfixed at this stage.*IMPORTANT*Refer to appliance legs installation in the preliminary installsection.STEP 5: POSITIONING OF THE UNITPlace the firebox into position on top of the sheet metal.Remember to leave a 25mm air gap on all sides of the firebox.If the unit is to be installed without legs please refer to vents inthe preliminary install guide.*IMPORTANT*There MUST be a minimimum of 150mm clearance between thebase and the bottom of the unit.*IMPORTANT* Releasing glass doorPrior to continuing with installation ensure you release theglass door. First remove pins located on either side of the unit,then proceed to slowly lower the door from its factory position.You should now be able to open and close the door.outdoor air-kitSTEP 5A: OUTDOOR AIR KIT(OPTIONAL)externalwallconnectionto unitFLEXI FLUEVerminproofCOWLAny depression or lack of fresh air within the room where thefireplace is located can cause emanation of smoke to flowback into the room and the unit to run inefficiently. It is highlyrecommended that an Outdoor Air Kit be installed in six ormore star rated homes, or any install where a mechanicaldevice (ie. fan), takes air from the fireplace cavity & transfersit.Place the adaptor underneath the unit and feed through thebottom and attach to the internal front adaptor. Attach the flexiflue to the adaptor and run to the external brick wall at the rearof the unit, then proceed to connect the metal vermin proofcowl onto the outside wall.The flexi flue can be positioned either side of the adaptor inorder to fit between the heater and the wall. It is not requiredthat the flexi flue be positioned directly behind the firebox.*IMPORTANT*Refer to Air Kit installation in the preliminary install section.26

5.1 MASONRY BRICK INSTALLATIONSTEP 6: TRIM (OPTIONAL STEP)**IMPORTANT**Trim must be fitted onto the firebox PRIOR to installing thefront of the enclosure.1.2.3.4.5.Manoeuvre the trim on the front of the firebox.On the side of the façade of the firebox drill two holes at4.2mm.The holes must match with the slotted holes on the trimManoeuvre the trim into desired position.Fix the trim into place using the screws provided (screwsM5 washers).STEP 7: FIRST LENGTH OF FLUEPlace the first single skin length of flue (with no crimp ends)around the outside of the spigot. You may also use a heatresistance sealant (i.e.Firecork) to seal any air gaps. Prior tocontinuing with flue installation please continue to the nextstep.STEP 8: SIDE WALLSUsing masonry (ie. clay bricks) build a layer of bricks fromthe base to the top of the ceiling on either side of the firebox.Remember to leave a 25mm air gap on all sides of the unit.**IMPORTANT**If you are installing your appliance with side vents please allowfor the vent openings in the cavity exterior.Ventilation is required on the enclosure to help with aircirculation. A minimum of two air intake grills are requiredat the bottom and a minimum of two air out-take grills arerequired at the top of the masonry enclosure. All vents can bepositioned either side OR the front of the masonry enclosure.Minimum vent sizes are 100mm x 300mm with a minimum offour vents.*All air vents must must have a minimum clearance tocombustibles of 600mm in front of and 500mm above themetal vent itself.27

A hole is to be cut inthe centre of the lid in order for the single skin flue to penetratethrough tightly. You may also use a heat resistance sealant (i.e.Firecork) and heat proof tape to seal any air gaps.It is important to ensure the cavity lid is fully s
